7 years old

Spencer's 7th birthday was Friday... I always thought it was a bummer that the boys had to wait all day to open their presents, so this year, I started a new tradition...."The Birthday Box". It is waiting for them in the morning, and anything in the box, they can have/open before school. So Spencer got a box of cereal (one I don't normally buy), some candy and a pair of shorts (because it was warm enough to wear shorts to school but he didn't have any :)

After school we opened presents

(most of his presents this year were summer clothes)

Preston picked out a musical greeting card (it read "Happy 40th birthday", but he liked the song!)

We made mini-cupcakes this year with Blue and Orange frosting (my colors weren't exactly BSU approved)
After presents we got ready to go to the boys' t-ball game, and then the school carnival. The boys had a very busy day but it was a lot of fun!

Spencer impresses me everyday...he is so willing to help. The other morning, when I was trying to get him to let me sleep past 6:30am, I told him he could go get his own breakfast. Since my room is right off the kitchen I heard him do it, and then I heard him unloading the dishwasher! I love that kid! He is such a good worker and we can always count on him to pitch in when we have a project. He plays well with Preston (most of the time) and is so nice to others. He may be strong willed, but we love him just the same!
