Okay, time to do some catching up...
After the family reunion, my sister Rebecca and her kids stayed with us for a week. She was probably a little bored, we don't do a lot. But I did think of an experiment the kids could do: Elephant Toothpaste (found here through Pinterest). On one of the hotter days, we went to a park with a splash pad. And just for fun I included a picture of my niece Brooklyn. Every time she sat at the table to eat, she would slide herself down the chair and get stuck. Funny girl!
20 years ago I graduated from High School. I went to Wendell High School for K-11 and then we moved. I went to WoodRiver High for 11 &12. I never really knew that many people my age at WoodRiver, so when Wendell said I could come to their reunion, I was very excited. I had been able to reconnect with several of my classmates/friends over the past few years thanks to Facebook!
The boys had their annual eye exam. And since this was the second year the optometrist told us that Preston has a slight case of farsightedness (?), we decided to go ahead and get him glasses. Now there are three of us with reading glasses.
The first weekend in August my sister Emily blessed her new baby boy Braden, so me and the boys went to stay with her for a couple extra days to help out. We did a little dress up, a little babysitting (cutest boy ever, almost makes me want another one : ) and we even got to ride horses at my Aunt Annette's. This was the boys' first time. The boys were a little nervous and wanted me to go with them at first, but in no time at all, they were asking to ride by themselves!
Spencer has been wanting new sunglasses for quite some time. But not just any sunglasses. Aviators. He found a pair at the Optometrist for $250, but why would anyone ever spend that kind of money, especially on a kid? So every time we'd go into a store with sunglasses, he'd look to see if they had the kind he wanted. He usually found some, but they didn't always fit right. Luckily he does have a pretty big head, so eventually he found just the right pair. He loves making his serious face when he wears them.
totally love his serious face! He is rockin' those shades. and you, in the clown suit...awesome!
