Wedding!

My brother Kent finally married his girlfriend Kelsey! They have been dating off and on for the last 5 years or so. We are excited to welcome Kelsey to the family...officially! Their wedding was in Washington and I was excited to be able to go with my youngest sister Emily and her husband Michael. On Aug 25th (Thursday) we drove to my brother Scott's house in Oak Harbor, WA and stayed with him and his kids for a few days (my SIL Jennifer was visiting her grandmother in AZ). We had beautiful weather during our stay and Scott took us to the beach and we went night geo-caching. Saturday was the wedding rehearsal dinner in Tacoma, so we all packed up and traveled down, riding a ferry on the way. It was great to see so much family there, about half of us were able to make the trip: Mom & Dad, Me, Rebecca & her husband Russ, Mark, and Emily and her husband Michael. All of us but Mark stayed at a hotel Saturday night in Lacey, WA (closer to the wedding). It was great to spend time together and be able to go to church together on Sunday. Sunday afternoon we all drove over to Union, WA for the wedding at Alderbrooke Resort...right on the waters-edge. Once again the weather was beautiful, and so was the wedding! After the wedding we stayed for the dinner and the reception and then headed back to the hotel in Lacey. On Monday morning, Emily, Michael and I headed home through Oregon, so we stopped at Multnomah Falls for a little scenic distraction. Have I mentioned how much I love waterfalls! All in all it was great trip, and while I missed having Shannon and my boys with me, I was glad to be surrounded by my other family!
