A tradition in our family was to give all of our boys the same middle name as their father...so we did. We have Michael Boe, Spencer Boe and Preston Boe. If we had had a girl, her name would have been Jorja Boe (we just might have spelled Boe different).
I recently discovered that we were not the only ones to do this in my family. My great-great-grandfather Daniel Moroni Daniels had 12 children and 10 of them had the same middle name, Owens. They were: Mary Owens, Daniel Owens, LeRoy Owens (my great-grandfather), Elizabeth Catherine Owens, Luther Owens, Florabell Owens (don't you just love her name!!), Russel Owens, Lenna Owens, Lona Owens, and Pearl Owens.
How cool is that!
What was because Daniels Moroni Daniels was married to Catherine Elizabeth Owens. It was common for the children to have the mothers maiden name as their middle name.
