Our family vacation this year was to the Oregon Coast. We stayed in a house near Lincoln City. The weather wasn't exceptionally warm (60's), but at least it didn't start raining until the day we left : ) Spencer threw up the day before we left and the day after we got there, but luckily not on the drive. Preston was also throwing up the day before we headed home, but we were lucky again and we had no mishaps on the drive!
Here's a quick recap of what we did on our vacation:
- Monday: arrived, ate dinner at the 60's Cafe, and went grocery shopping.
- Tuesday: visited Devil's Punch bowl on the way to Newport, took the boys to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center, and the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. Took a walk on Newport's Bay Front, and on the way back to the house checked out Gleneden Beach.
- Wednesday: visited Yaquina Head Lighthouse, tide pools, and cove. Walked around the shops at Depoe Bay and bought a kite!
- Thursday: Preston was sick, so Shannon, Michael, and Spencer went on a hike to Drift Creek Falls. In the afternoon Preston felt well enough to go to Gleneden Beach where we flew our kite (or rather it flew itself : ) and played in the sand and the waves!
- Friday: ate breakfast at PIG'N Pancake before we headed home. Stopped at one of my favorite spots, Multnomah Falls!
