House Happenings

This past week has been super hectic around our house. The long awaited bathroom has been replaced/installed.... We were the lucky recipients of some gently used carpet and were able to have our whole house re-carpeted. Shannon ripped out the old carpet and pad and screwed the squeaks out of the floor, but we paid someone else to install the carpets and had it done over the course of 3 days (so we would have enough time and room for all our stuff). On Saturday, Shannon pulled up the toilet and put down the new vinyl floor in the bathroom.
I have been working on painting bedrooms and trim work, and so while the carpet was ripped up I painted all the baseboards. I still have the doorways and window trim to finish, but I am much closer than before! All the hard work has paid off because it looks great, if I do say so myself!
I only have pictures of the "before" bathroom...not the rest of the house. But here's what it looks like now...before all the stuff has been moved back in to "junk" it up:)

Our closet
(Shannon remodeled the closet some time ago and built the open shelving unit on the left of the closet. We found closet doors at the Recycle Store, painted them up and replaced our old brown ones...which are now shelves in the garage!) I also painted the wall.

We painted the walls blue (lighter than I imagined)and painted the ceiling and baseboards.

The Living Room

I painted three walls brown and we rearranged the furniture.
It looks pretty good with the white baseboards.
I still have to paint the windows which Shannon recently trimmed.

The outside

We painted the outside early in the summer (with the help of my sister Emily), but I never put a picture up. We are still planning on painting the front door the same color as the garage. The house used to be a peachy/yellow color. Now it is a brown/gray color...much, much better!
