First Day of School

Spencer is officially a Kindergartner! And he is very excited about it. Since he is in year-round school, he starts earlier than the traditional schools. Wednesday was his first day. He wanted to ride the bus, but also wanted me to be at school, so Preston and I drove over to be there when he got off the bus. He did extremely well and wasn't nervous at all. When he got off the bus, he just followed the principal around to the back of the school where the playground and classroom doors are and went right in. He hung up his back pack and I helped him find his seat. Once he found it, we said goodbye and that was that.
There was a little mess up with the bus number for coming home, but they figured it out since I had made sure they knew where he needed to be dropped off. I got a little worried while I was waiting because school gets out at 3:45pm and the bus didn't show up until 4:50pm. If this keeps being the drop off time, I might have to make other arrangements. That seems like a long bus ride for a Kindergartner. But he said he had a fun day and liked riding the bus. I'm doing pretty well with the whole thing. While he is gone I'm a little nervous wondering if he's alright and making friends and such. I hope he makes friends fast and has a fun year!

  1. Yay to you for doing a good job sending your first one off to school!! (oh, and yay for Spencer, too) I cried with my first, did ok with my second 'cause he had his sister to take care of him, almost cried with my third, and think I might have a melt down with the 4th and final.

I'm not sure what I would think about year-round school, but I've heard several people say they love it.

p.s. no pics loaded for me.
