We made a quick trip to Bruneau Dunes for Labor Day weekend (Shannon's birthday).  The temperature was in the 80's, so really nice! It was our first time taking the younger boys, I don't know why we put things off for so long. Sand dunes are a lot harder to climb than I remember, so I only did it once, and then sat down at the half way point while the boys went up and down and played in the sand.
The camping sites aren't the best, very sandy and not a lot of shade/privacy, so we told the boys that next time we'd make it a day trip and use the money we would have spent camping to rent them sandboards (like snowboards). They thought this was a great idea.
While there we also went to the planetarium and observed the night sky which was really fun. It reminded me of the astronomy class I took at Ricks College. We went on a walk in the dark to find scorpions. The guide used a black light to look for them, apparently they have something in their exoskeleton that glows (?-I could be totally wrong about that.)
We also took some time and let the boys play in the water. They found a spot where they could walk across to get to a little island.

Spencer's getting sand in his eyes, it was really windy at the top.
