In our new home, my bedroom is on the opposite end of the house from the boys and I tend to forget about their room.
This is typically how their room looks these days...
Notice unmade beds, toys and stuffed animals laying all over, and the laundry hamper by the closet and not in it? I did their laundry last Friday. The clean clothes are still sitting in the hamper and consequently the dirty clothes are all over the floor with the toys. I usually remember that their room is a mess when I take them to bed at night, so I just shove everything to the sides and make a walking path so no one gets hurt in the night walking around!
